The Madison Modern Quilt Guild Spring Challenge is to make a name tag. I wanted to work on a new technique so I free motioned my name and framed it in my first ever log cabin block.
The fabrics are from scraps given away by Jeni Baker at a MMQG meeting. Thanks Jeni!
Here are some progress photos! First, I wrote my name in pencil on the fabric, dropped my feeddogs and "wrote" with thread.
Here is my name tag along side my best friend Krissy's. Aren't her tiny half square triangles adorable? And um, how did she make that teeny tiny binding?! She said it was a pain but she finished it super fast! I wish I hadn't run out of the thread I used for my letters so I could have used it for my top stitching but white thread is sort of my thing anyway.
